    FAQs

    What is First Aid?

First aid is the basic and immediate medical care given to a person suffering from sudden illness or injury, to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, or to promote recovery until full medical treatment is available.

First aid involves making common sense decisions in the best interest of an injured person. It is not a medical treatment and cannot be compared with what a trained medical professional provides.

White cross on a green background is the internationally accepted symbol for first aid. When you see this sign, it indicates people, tools, or a facility providing first aid care.

Which is the best place to keep your First Aid Kit?

Keep your First Aid Kit in a cool and dry place, away from the direct sunlight. It should have an easy access in case of an emergency.

    At home,

Kitchen shelf is the best place to keep your first aid kit as most of the injuries like cuts and burns happen here.

Keeping the first aid kit in your bathroom / toilet is a bad idea as the too much humidity can shorten the shelf life of items. Also, the access to first aid kit gets blocked when someone is using the bathroom / toilet.

    While travelling,

You can carry your First Aid Kit it in a car, suitcase, backpack, or waterproof dry bag, depending on the activity.

    Do First Aid kits expire?

Some of the items from your first aid kit may expire / get damaged after a certain period. Hence, keeping your First Aid Kit in a good condition is very important.

    1. Replace used items immediately with the new ones to keep your kit always ready for the emergency.
    2. Check your kit regularly (or at least once a year) and safely dispose off the items that have passed their expiry date as they can start to deteriorate, making them unsafe
    3. Ensure that sterile items are still sealed.
